Stop the AI Drift

This fall we're launching a new campaign to raise awareness about how AI is eroding what makes us human and to give you the tools to fight back.

Get notified when the campaign launches and how you can take part.

With each passing day, AI is being woven deeper into our lives.

It's changing the way people think, relate, work, and understand themselves as these products and systems are integrated into their lives.

We notice it when:

We ask AI for help when starting something new instead of trying on our own

We realize a teen would rather talk to a chatbot than a family member or friend

We discover a colleague’s warm message was written by AI

We call this slow erosion of our fundamental humanity the AI Drift.

It shows up most clearly in five areas: Relationships · Cognitive Capacities · Inner Worlds · Identities · Work and Contributions

By naming this erosion, we can defend against it

Every technology that reshapes daily life eventually forces society to name a concept – often legal – that had not needed to be named before. The printing press prompted the right to free expression. The Industrial Revolution led to workers' rights. Mass photography led to the right to privacy. Today, we need to figure out: What is the overarching right we need in the age of AI?

In mid-September, CHT will launch a bold public campaign featuring subway billboards, influencer content, creator collaborations, and more to raise awareness around AI Drift, drive action, and demand change.
