Project Director, Psychosocial Evaluations of AI
Imran Khan leads the Center for Humane Technology’s work on understanding and communicating the psychosocial impacts of AI -- how this new technology is affecting human minds, relationships, communities, and cognition.
Imran's career has been focused on intersection of science, technology, and society. He has previously served as CEO of the British Science Association, Head of Public Engagement at the Wellcome Trust, and Executive Director of the UC Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics. He is also co-founder of the Climate Fiction Prize, and author of the forthcoming MIT Press book Psychedelics: The Essential Knowledge.
Originally from Manchester, England, Imran now lives just outside San Francisco. He studied Biology at the University of Oxford, Science Communication at Imperial College London, and also has an MBA from the University of London.
