About CHT's Executive Assistant to Aza Raskin role

Aza Raskin is the cofounder of the Center for Humane Technology, one of the minds behind the Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma, and the cohost for the podcast Your Undivided Attention. He is also the cofounder of Earth Species Project, an open-source nonprofit dedicated to decoding animal communication. Trained as a mathematician and dark matter physicist, he has taken three companies from founding to acquisition, is a co-chairing member of the World Economic Forum’s Global AI Counsel, helped found Mozilla Labs, and has been named FastCompany’s Master of Design and listed on Forbes and Inc Magazine’s 30-under-30.

We are looking for a seasoned full-time Executive Assistant at the Center for Humane Technology to amplify Aza’s work across his organizations. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making the world a better place, we’d love to meet you.

Employment Details

  • Terms: Full-time permanent role with 90 day trial period
  • Compensation & Benefits: $90K-120K annual salary (depending on experience level), generous paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K with 4% matching
  • Location: Preference for San Francisco Bay Area to allow for more in-person collaboration with Aza, with remote possible on Pacific Time working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project management: work with Aza’s chief of staff to help run the ship and stay on top of all priorities across multiple projects
  • Inbox management: prioritizing and triaging inboxes, writing emails and documents over dictated voice memos, and staying on top of correspondence
  • CRM and record management: capturing relationships, meeting notes, expenses, and updates
  • Meeting management: creating briefs, setting agendas, taking notes, and capturing next steps
  • Calendar management and scheduling
  • Travel arrangements
  • Personal assistance projects
  • Special projects

Requirements

  • 5+ years of prior experience as an executive assistant managing c-level executives, especially in a fast-moving startup environment
  • Authentic, friendly, concise email writing voice with executive presence
  • Organized, detail-oriented, great at project management, and have a passion for managing many moving pieces in a rapidly changing environment
  • Value open communication, empathy, and emotional intelligence
  • Ask great questions, show curiosity, and have an eagerness to learn quickly
  • Proactive problem solver who can take initiative with suggestions on how to do things even better
  • At home working with software systems: setting up and updating CRMs, collaborating on Google Drive, Notion, Dropbox, Hubspot, Asana, Slack, and Streak
  • Available and responsive during Pacific Coast working hours (within 15 minutes for text, within 2 hours for email), with flexibility during certain sprint times to respond to high-priority messages during weekends
