About CHT’s Digital Manager Role 

As a key member of our communications team reporting to our Chief Communications Officer, our Digital Manager will lead the execution of CHT's digital strategy across website, email, and social media. 

You are an experienced communicator and marketer who’s a humanist at heart. You get energy from spending time crafting high-impact copy and content; from using data to guide decisions; and from developing creative ways to authentically reach audiences. You have a keen design eye and are inspired by the challenge of how to digitally reach and engage our audience in a way that respects their attention and advances our mission. 

Employment Details

  • Terms: Full-time permanent role with 90 day trial period
  • Level: Mid-level
  • Compensation: Competitive compensation and generous PTO, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K with 4% matching
  • Location: As with all roles at CHT, this role will be mostly remote with regular opportunities for in-person collaboration in the SF Bay Area.

Manage all aspects of day to day platform management, including Webflow, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Airmeet (virtual conferencing software)

  • Manage social media accounts
    Create and post high-impact content
    Engage with our audiences to build community
    Track metrics and performance
    Help define and uphold our unique approach to social media
  • Manage email
    Write and copyedit
    Design MailChimp templates
    Track metrics and performance
  • Manage website and web traffic
    Optimize landing pages and user funnels
    Monitor SEO and website performance
    Set up and optimize Google Adwords campaigns
    Refine and uphold our unique approach to ads

Lead high-quality execution of brand: 

  • Translate thoughtful brand identity (tone / voice / style) across channels 
  • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners

Lead high-impact campaigns

  • Generate creative campaign solutions for our impact goals
  • Develop detailed campaign plans
  • Execute and report on campaigns 

Support Humane Technology Movement growth 

  • Test, track and report on key metrics
  • Optimize SEO and engagement, Google Ads
  • Authentically grow distribution and engagement across diverse audiences


30 days in: 

  • Take over social media and email management
  • Adopt current communications processes
  • Assess current email and social media activities

60 days in: 

  • Take over website management, campaign management, analytics reporting
  • Recommend and implement ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency of communications activities and processes

90 days in:

  • Be up and running on day-to-day management of social, email, and web
  • Be making decisions guided by data and CHT ethics and values
  • Have put in place recommendations to improve our impact across channels

Skills & Experience

Ideal candidates will have some combination of the following:

  • 3+ years experience directly running social media, email, and website in a for-profit, non-profit, in house, or agency setting, ideally cultivating community/audience/brand
  • 3+ years experience in design, video, and/or creative for social media, email, website
  • 3+ years experience in authentically reaching and engaging diverse audiences
  • 3+ years experience driving growth and tracking analytics
  • Deep alignment with CHT’s core beliefs and mission
  • Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Strategic and systematic 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communicator
  • Highly adaptable,​ adjusting effectively to complexity and changing conditions
  • High integrity
